development projects by dividing the effort
into the following phases:
Requirements Phase The Requirements
Phase includes defining the clients
current system status as it relates to the
custom software and the development of a
detailed Requirements Document, which is
based on a General Business Description
provided to Lowry by the client. The
Requirements Document provides the direction
for both the programming and documentation
pieces required for a successful custom
implementation.
Design/Functional
Specification Phase The
Design/Functional Specification Phase
includes the general system design, the
logical system design, and the detailed
system design. The deliverable for this phase
is the Design Document (if Lowry authored the
project Requirements Document) or a
Functional Specification (if the customer
supplies the requirements). The delivered
document may include the system flow, system
architecture (particularly as it relates to
the clients existing systems), and the
high-level and detail level functional
specifications for all transactions, screens,
reports and programs. It may also include
layouts for transactions, screens and
reports.
Build Phase
The Build Phase includes the specified
code development, unit testing, integrated
testing, and system testing for all
transactions, screens, reports, and programs
on Lowry premises. The deliverable from this
phase will be the application code for a
system in which each program unit has been
tested and is functioning at Lowry.
Installation and Consulting
Phase The system is
installed and made functional at the client
site during the Installation and Consulting
Phase. The client then has an opportunity to
ensure that the system functions in the
client environment as it performed during the
Build Phase at Lowry. Customized client
consulting is also offered during this time,
but relates specifically to the custom
software which has been developed. System
documentation of the clients custom
system can be provided as well.
Each phase will be performed at a
per hour time and material billing rate. An
estimated total hour effort quote to complete
each phase will be provided.
Software Consulting & Integration
Hardware is only as good as the software that runs the show.
