A print and apply label solution helped a plastics industry supplier save three hours of labor per day.
Customer
Plasticolors, Inc. is a supplier of colorants and additive dispersions in the plastics industry. Plasticolors mixes liquid colorants, additives, and inhibitors in the large metal vessels. Then the liquid is poured into five-gallon pails for shipment to customers.
Problem
By labeling the pails with a manual system, Plasticolors lacked efficiency in the process. Pails were often mislabeled due to human error in the sorting and handling of the labels. The company also wanted a system to reduce labor and streamline this process.
Solution
An assessment from Lowry Computer Products led to the installation of two Paragon print and apply systems with a corner wrap module to accommodate the rounded surface of the pail. The Supplier was able to reduce labor by three hours a day and allowed the company to move forward with its long-term goal of paperless packaging orders.
