Direct Thermal Printing: No Ribbon Requirement for Barcode Labels
Throughout Lowry Computer Products' 37 years of experience, we have become the industry’s leading barcode printing systems integrator. We are proud to be able to provide our customers with a wide selection of best in class direct thermal printers. Lowry’s expertise allows us to identify the individual customer’s needs allowing them to find the right solution for their business.
A direct thermal printer produces a label by heating a coated thermal label when it passes over the thermal print head. The coating turns black in the areas where it is heated, producing an image. Two-color direct thermal printers can print both black and an additional color by apply heat at two different temperatures. Direct thermal printing differs from Thermal Transfer printing, because it does not require ribbon to complete the process. Barcode printers typically come in fixed sizes of 4 inches, 6 inches or 8 inches wide. Although a number of manufacturers have made differing sizes in the past, most have now standardized on these sizes. The main application for these printers is to produce barcode labels for product and shipping identification.
Lowry offers an impressive collection of direct thermal printers for asset management solutions. Lowry's experts have a thorough knowledge of direct thermal labels, thermal transfer labels, and also thermal label printers.
