The Lowry History

Lowry and Associates was founded as a stand-alone company in 1974, as an Intel manufacturer's representative selling chips, processor boards and related components to distributors. Shortly thereafter, as the business expanded, additional computer peripherals like modems, storage devices, printers and terminals were added to the business line. At the same time, the demand for hardware integration services grew rapidly as customers sought expertise to bring together multiple system peripherals into a single system.

In 1980 the company name was changed to Lowry Computer Products. With rapid growth and adoption of bar code based technology, the company expanded rapidly. Now exclusively focused on bar code based solutions, the company aggressively focused on packaged solutions to meet the data collections needs of a variety of vertical markets. During the mid-90's, Lowry expanded nationally by acquiring a number of regional competitors and acquired a label manufacturing operation in White Bear Lake, MN.

Today, Lowry is a leading national integrator focused on enterprise mobility systems featuring advanced AUTO-ID technologies like bar code, imaging and RFID solutions.
